Isabell Otto is Professor of Media Studies with a focus on media participation in digital cultures at the University of Konstanz. Previously she was assistant professor (Juniorprofessorin) of media studies at the University of Konstanz. In 2013/14 she was Guest Professor for Media Technology and Media Philosophy at the Ruhr University Bochum. Isabell Otto coordinated the DFG network “Media of Collective Intelligence”.
In her habilitation, Isabell Otto theorized about „Die Zeit der Vernetzung. Zeitordnungen unter der Bedingung digitaler Medien”. She earned her doctorate at the University of Cologne and was a research associate at the Graduate School “Locating Media”, University of Siegen. She studied Theatre, Film and Television Studies, German Studies and Philosophy in Freiburg, Cologne and Paris.
